Not many!

Not only this, but SIFE Nottingham has established close links with our sponsors. These include leading graduate recruiters such as Accenture, Deutsche Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Enterprise Rent a Car and Deloitte amongst others.

The chance to Travel

SIFE Nottingham projects vary immensely in their locations with recent projects being carried out in countries such as Ghana and India. Not only this, but our success in the 4 National Competitions between 2005-2008 has allowed our team members to  be nationally recognised and therefore compete globally, representing the United Kingdom in Toronto, Paris, New York and Singapore.

Additionally, project work can see students travel the breadth of the globe. Between 2006-2007, SIFE Nottingham students visited Northern Ghana on 3 separate occasions, and since the summer of 2008, members have been to India twice. Project ideas develop each and every year so who knows where you may get to travel, and which corner of the globe you will be striving to “create business and transform lives”!

Leadership and Management Opportunities

By Joining SIFE Nottingham, you are given the perfect platform to put you existing business and inter-personal skills into practice, and also develop new ones. Whether it is leading a group, undertaking a project, managing commercial activities or even just working closely alongside others as a supportive member of a project or team, SIFE Nottingham gives you the ideal opportunity.

You’ll be amazed how much being an active member of SIFE can enhance your business skills, entrepreneurialism/creativity, presenting ability, as well as a host of other soft skills such as team working, problem solving, communication, time management and leadership.

Networking

SIFE is a great way to meet recruiters - whether they are our sponsors such as Accenture, Deloitte, Enterprise Rent a Car, and a host of others, or the other 400 blue-chip firms that sponsor SIFE, including Proctor and Gamble, Coca-Cola and Wal-Mart. Team members present their projects to panels of sponsors in the Annual Competition held in London every April. In previous years, team members were asked by senior managers from the likes of Heinz, Wilkinson and Maersk to give them a call personally regarding a job.

So, by joining SIFE Nottingham you are not only helping others in Nottingham, the UK and around the world, but you are also helping yourself - by improving your CV, enhancing your job prospects and gaining valuable contacts, helping you to secure a successful future.

What SIFE Nottingham needs are more enthusiastic, committed students (preferably 1st and 2nd year students) who want to make a difference, and who also want to really develop and test themselves by contributing to projects or even starting their own project ideas. This could be literally anything – working with a local business, helping an individual, marketing an event on campus, and so on – there really are no limits!

You don't have to study Management or be from the Business School - we are looking for a diverse team. In the past, students from the Faculty of Engineering have been members of SIFE, helping to design and construct Bee-Hives for our globally recognized work in Ghana (Beevelop).
